Your IIDA Chapter is a 100% volunteer-run organization. As an IIDA member, you have the exclusive opportunity to participate in a volunteer or leadership capacity at the local or regional level. important things to note:

  • CHAPTER VOLUNTEERS MUST BE AN ACTIVE IIDA MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING. TO QUALIFY FOR A BOARD OR DIRECTOR POSITION, CANDIDATES MUST BE AN ACTIVE IIDA MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING FOR AT LEAST 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING ELECTION OR APPOINTMENT. THE CHAPTER BOARD SELECTS THE SLATE OF CANDIDATES FOR THE MEMBERSHIP TO VOTE ON.

  • ALL BOARD MEMBER AND DIRECTOR TERMS ARE FROM THE IIDA CALENDAR YEAR FROM JULY 1 THROUGH JUNE 30. ALL CHAPTER VICE PRESIDENTS SHALL BE ELECTED FOR ONE TwO-YEAR TERM. THE PRESIDENT AND PRESIDENT-ELECT SHALL BE ELECTED FOR ONE ONE-YEAR TERM AND CANNOT SERVE MORE THAN ONE CONSECUTIVE FULL TERM IN OFFICE. OTHER CHAPTER OFFICERS MAY SERVE A MAXIMUM OF TWO CONSECUTIVE one-year TERMS IN OFFICE.

  • BOARD MEMBERS AND DIRECTORS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HOLD ACTIVE OFFICE OR EMPLOYMENT BY ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL DESIGN ORGANIZATION DURING THEIR TERM WITH IIDA.
