sb1319 pROVIDES LEGAL RECOGNITION TO THE INTERIOR DESIGN PROFESSION IN PENNSYLVANIA
The historic, bipartisan Senate bill (SB)1319 was signed into law by Governor Josh Shapiro on October 31st. The bill legally recognizes interior design as a profession in Pennsylvania for the first time, and unites interior designers and architects toward a common goal of continued education.
Our current and former VPs of Advocacy, Nikki Mancuso and Chesenia Burgos, had the opportunity to work closely with IDLCPA (The Interior Design Legislative Coalition of Pennsylvania) as well as ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and CIDQ (Council for Interior Design Qualification) over the past few years, and speak with legislators at the state capitol in Harrisburg in support of the bill. Our chapter sends a big CONGRATULATIONS to IDLCPA (@Interior Design Coalition of PA) and AIA (@AIA Pennsylvania) for all of their hard work on behalf of the profession!
